MSCI ACWI All Country World Index #

A global measure of developed and emerging market stocks. The MSCI ACWI Index is comprised of close to 3,000 stocks from nearly 50 countries. 

The acronym ACWI stands for All Country World Index

The MSCI ACWI Index includes 85% of the world’s investable publicly traded common stocks.

The MSCI ACWI Index ranks holdings by size as measured by market capitalization. 

Market capitalization is calculated by multiplying the common stock shares outstanding by the price. 

The index is denominated in U.S. dollars.

MSCI ACWI ex USA Index #

A global measure of developed and emerging markets stocks outside of the United States. The MSCI ACWI ex USA Index is comprised of over 2,300 stocks from 46 countries. 

The acronym ACWI stands for All Country World Index.

The MSCI ACWI ex USA Index includes 85% of the world’s investable publicly traded common stocks outside of the United States as measured by market capitalization.

The MSCI ACWI Index ranks holdings by size, as measured by market capitalization. 

Market capitalization is calculated by multiplying the common stock shares outstanding by the price. 

The index is denominated in U.S. dollars.

MSCI AC Americas Index #

A measure of developed and emerging market stocks in North, Central, and South America. 

The acronym AC stands for “all country”.

The MSCI AC Americas Index is comprised of over 800 stocks from 7 countries. 

The MSCI AC Americas Index ranks holdings by size as measured by market capitalization with United States stocks comprising over 90% of the index. 

Market capitalization is calculated by multiplying the common stock shares outstanding by the price. 

The index is denominated in U.S. dollars.

MSCI AC Asia Index #

A measure of developed and emerging market stocks in Asia. The MSCI AC Asia Index is comprised of over 1,400 stocks from 11 countries. 

The acronym AC stands for “all country”.

The MSCI AC Asia Index ranks holdings by size as measured by market capitalization. 

Market capitalization is calculated by multiplying the common stock shares outstanding by the price. 

Japan and China have the largest representation in the index.  

The index is denominated in U.S. dollars.

MSCI AC Asia Pacific ex Japan Index #

A measure of developed and emerging market stocks in Asia and the Pacific not including stocks from Japan. The MSCI AC Asia Pacific ex Japan Index is comprised of over 1,200 stocks from 12 countries. 

The acronym AC stands for “all country”.

The MSCI AC Asia Pacific ex Japan Index ranks holdings by size as measured by market capitalization. 

Market capitalization is calculated by multiplying the common stock shares outstanding by the price. 

China, Australia, India, and Taiwan have the largest representation in the index. 

The index is denominated in U.S. dollars.

MSCI AC Europe Index #

A measure of developed and emerging market stocks in Europe. The MSCI AC Europe Index is comprised of nearly 500 stocks from 20  European countries. 

The acronym AC stands for “all country”.

The MSCI AC Europe Index ranks holdings by size as measured by market capitalization. 

Market capitalization is calculated by multiplying the common stock shares outstanding by the price. 

The United Kingdom, France, Switzerland, and Germany have the largest representation in the index.

Small cap stocks are smaller-sized companies as measured by market capitalization. Market capitalization is calculated by multiplying the common stock shares outstanding by the price.

MSCI World Index #

A global measure of developed market stocks. The MSCI World Index is comprised of over 500 stocks from 23 countries. 

The MSCI World Index ranks holdings by size as measured by market capitalization. 

Market capitalization is calculated by multiplying the common stock shares outstanding by the price. 

The United States comprises over 60% of the index with all other countries representing less than 10% of the index. 

The index is denominated in U.S. dollars.

MSCI EAFE Index #

A measure of developed market stocks not including the United States and Canada. The MSCI EAFE Index is comprised of nearly 800 stocks from 21 countries. 

The acronym EAFE stands for Europe, Australasia, and the Far East

The MSCI EAFE Index ranks holdings by size as measured by market capitalization. 

Market capitalization is calculated by multiplying the common stock shares outstanding by the price. 

Japan, the United Kingdom, France, and Switzerland have the largest representation in the index.   

The index is denominated in U.S. dollars.

MSCI World ex USA Index #

Growth stocks are publicly-traded companies that have faster rates of earnings and revenue growth relative to the overall stock market.

MSCI determines growth investment style characteristics for index construction by looking at historical and forward-looking earnings per share growth. MSCI considers both short-term and long-term earnings growth data. MSCI also incorporates long-term historical revenue growth trends in identifying growth stocks. 

The MSCI World ex USA Growth Index ranks holdings by size as measured by market capitalization.

MSCI World ex USA Value Index #

A global measure of large and mid-sized stocks outside of the United States that exhibit value style characteristics across 22 developed markets countries. The MSCI World ex USA Value Index is comprised of over 500 stocks.

Value stocks are publicly-traded companies that have lower valuations relative to the overall stock market.

MSCI determines value investment style characteristics using three variables: book value to price, 12-month forward earnings yield, and dividend yield. The book value to price is the inverse of the price-to-book ratio that is included in Asset Camp’s Valuations and Earnings Reports.

Japan and Australia have the largest representation in the index.

MSCI Pacific ex Japan Index #

A measure of developing market stocks in Latin America. The MSCI Emerging Markets Latin America Index is comprised of nearly 100 stocks from 5 Latin American countries. 

The MSCI Emerging Markets Latin America Index ranks holdings by size as measured by market capitalization. 

Market capitalization is calculated by multiplying the common stock shares outstanding by the price. 

Brazil and Mexico have the largest representation in the index. 

The index is denominated in U.S. dollars.

MSCI Frontier Markets Index #

A global measure of frontier markets stocks. Frontier markets are public stock markets from countries in the early stages of economic development with less liquid financial markets and limited access for foreign investors. 

The MSCI Frontier Market Index is comprised of nearly 100 stocks from close to 28 frontier market countries. 

The MSCI Frontier Markets Index ranks holdings by size as measured by market capitalization. 

Market capitalization is calculated by multiplying the common stock shares outstanding by the price. 

Vietnam and Morocco have the largest representation in the index.
